JPEG WRESTLE
JPEG Wrestle is a new image series inspired by
a 2007 exhibition at the Hessel Museum at Bard College, curated by Tom Eccles and Trevor Smith, in which the two continuously responded to the other's moves
on the game board of the Museum, "allowing for the contradictory forces that emerged in the selection fo works to inform unexpected juxtapositions that in some cases bridge decades of
artistic evolution." JPEG Wrestle manifest at first as an associative game in which moves are made by invited curators and artists, always in response, however obliquely,
to the person before. Writing may or may not accompany one's entry.

Based out of the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the Knocks are emerging as a force to be reckoned with as far as music production is concerned. Consisting of Ben “DJ B-Roc” Ruttner and James “JPatt” Patterson, the Knocks are named in reference to the early days of their production career when they worked out of their home studios. Their complaining neighbors would pound on the walls and ceilings. Two years later, they have upgraded to the HeavyRoc Music studio in Chinatown and are making names for themselves finding and developing talent as well as remixing the likes of Shwayze and Katy Perry.
